Klang: A Tribute To Karlheinz Stockhausen
A collaboration with fellow graphic design and illustration students
from University of Brighton to provide interior graphics for the
celebration/remembrance of German composer Karlheinz
Stockhausen at the Southbank Center in London. We were given a
month to prepare , present and build a visual installation on a
supplied wall within the center. It was decided to base our group’s
(one out of three) design on the visual information created by the
emotion of one of Stockhausen’s work, Mantra 47’-10’.
A questionnaire was devised that asked randomly chosen
members of the public what they felt emotionally when hearing
timed intervals of Mantra play. The results were then taken to
produce a visual info-graphic that was applied on the Soft Space
within the Southbank Center.
